No candidate left behind

KindHire

Where ghosting isn't an option.

Applying should start a conversation, not leave someone wondering. KindHire tracks responses, communicates application outcomes, and holds employers accountable when deadlines are missed. Candidates know where they stand — even when the answer is no.

The Problem with Silence

What KindHire guarantees

Every application receives a status update.
Every interview gets a follow-up decision.
Candidates receive a message when a role is filled or closed.
Employers are accountable when deadlines are missed.
Strong candidates stay visible for future opportunities.
Boost credits are returned when employers don't respond in time.

Mandatory Closure

KindHire is not optional. Employers cannot close a job, let it expire, or move on without applying a KindHire decision to every remaining applicant. No one is left in the dark.

When a job is filled, every candidate who applied, whether they made it to the interview stage or not, receives a message. This eliminates ghosting by design, not by policy.

Key Hiring Statuses

These are the statuses an application can reach. Each one triggers a message to the candidate.

Shortlisted and Offer Extended are intermediate stages set by the employer. Hired and Not Selected are terminal outcomes. Jobs that expire or are cancelled without action still require KindHire closure for all remaining applicants.

Shortlisted

Set by the employer to flag a candidate for further review. This status is never applied automatically — it represents a deliberate employer action.

Offer Extended

The employer sends a formal offer with salary, start date, working hours, and location. The candidate can accept or decline directly from their dashboard.

Hired

The candidate accepted. Onboarding begins. A Bill 190 employment confirmation letter is automatically generated and sent.

Not Selected

The candidate wasn't chosen for this role. They receive a status message letting them know the outcome. Employers can include a personal note — that detail is optional but encouraged.

Enforcement, Not Suggestions

KindHire doesn't ask employers to be responsive. It requires it. The system monitors response times and automatically intervenes when deadlines are missed.

The 21-hour window is the response deadline. If it passes, reminders are sent. If no action is taken by 72 hours, the system sends an automated response to the candidate, marks the response as overdue, applies a trust score event, and returns the boost credit. No automatic shortlisting — that decision stays with the employer.

Rejection Is Not the End

On CME, candidates who completed an interview have a path forward after a “no.” Two systems keep that door open.

Talent Pool

Candidates who completed an interview and weren't selected can opt into the Talent Pool, a cross-employer network where they're visible to all companies on CME for 30 days.

Entry requires a completed CME interview + explicit consent
Labeled "Interview completed" — no implied endorsement
30-day visibility window starts from the date of consent
Employers can only send Invite to Apply, no direct contact
Candidate can withdraw at any time

Retainer

The Retainer is a separate consent — candidates do not need to join the Talent Pool first. It allows the source employer to re-invite them if the position reopens.

Only the original employer can use the Retainer
Independent of Talent Pool — either consent can be given alone
Re-invite sent via email + in-app notification
Candidate can withdraw retainer consent anytime

Built-In Compliance

CME logs platform communications and hiring activity to support employer recordkeeping.

Job posting history, candidate status changes, interview records, and KindHire decisions are stored within the platform. Employers can export this activity for their own records. What that logging satisfies in terms of specific legal requirements should be assessed separately.

The Philosophy

“KindHire removes the ability to disappear. It rewards good behavior, enforces accountability, and reframes rejection as a moment of clarity, respect, and potential opportunity.”
